International Partnerships

Brackenhurst Children's Camp - Limuru, Kenya (2004)

    Kenyan children living in Limuru participated in a two-day summer camp at Brackenhurst International Centre.  Carey faculty, Dr. Stacy Reeves, organized the two-day experience integrating reading, writing, art, music, drama, field trips, culminating in the Parents' Day.

A Teacher in Kenya (2004)

    Working with homeschooled children, Carey faculty, Dr. Stacy Reeves, taught three day unit on plants to ages 10-14 incorporating mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, drama, horticulture, and literacy. These missionary kids from all regions of East Africa including Uganda, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and Zimbabwe.

My Orphanage in Kenya (2004-2007)

    Carey students and faculty donate time and financial support to purchase educational materials, food, clothing, school tuition fees, and teacher materials for Limuru Children's Centre in Limuru, Kenya.  This long term project has been directed by Dr. Reeves since 1997.  She serves as an educational consultant to the Centre and visits periodically.

A Teacher in China (2006)

     Accepting an invitation to tour and recruit students in northern and southern China, Carey faculty visited and lectured at Oxford Bilingual School in Guangzhou, China. The tour continued to Beijing, Carey faculty from nursing, psychology, and education recruited and lectured at Qingdao University and Linyi University.

Teaching at LinYi University (2006-2007)

     Dr. Stacy Reeves was invited as a visiting professor to work with undergraduates, graduates and faculty members at the School of Education at LinYi University, LinYi, China.
