Postdoctoral Education/Continuing Medical Education Development Director

Qualifications

The position requires the applicant have:

  • A Terminal Degree, D.O., M.D., Ed.D., Ph.D., or equivalent
  • Experience in academic is preferred such as:
    • Teaching experience in graduate medical education (osteopathic GME preferred);
    • Teaching experience at a college of osteopathic medicine preferred (teaching experience at a college of medicine will be considered);
    • Equivalent experience will be considered;
  • Experience in Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education (OGME) and Osteopathic Postgraduate Training Institutions and Continuing Medical Education (CME) preferred.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Clinical Sciences identifies, develops, and implements post-graduate training and CME programs in the WCUCOM’s targeted mission area. He or she will also participate in courses as assigned. He or she will also participate in research and administrative functions as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Postdoctoral Education Development Director (PEDD):

  • Assists the University in implementing the Mission Statement;
  • Travels throughout the region developing OGME/CME programs;
  • Assists the Associate Dean, Clinical Sciences in planning and implementing OGME/CME programs;
  • Assists in the preparation of materials and documentation required for accreditation;
  • Mentors students to promote their growth and development;
  • Serves on WCUCOM committees as assigned;
  • Assists in the selection of students to attend WCUCOM;
  • Serves as an ambassador to the local and national academic communities;
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating the integration of OGME topics into the lectures and provides lectures to students on clinical rotations and for OPTI presentations;
  • Other duties as assigned by the by the Associate Dean Clinical Sciences
  • Works with Assistant/Associate Dean, Academics to integrate UGME/OGME/CME

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to complete multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment;
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be organized and detail orientated.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have knowledge of OGME development, funding
  • Must have knowledge of hospital, clinic operations
