Position
The Cooper School of Missions and Biblical Studies at William Carey University invites
applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Religion to begin in February 2012.
William Carey University is a small, private, Christian liberal arts university affiliated with the Mississippi Baptist Convention and is an equal employment opportunity employer that welcomes and actively recruits men and women of a diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural background. Faculty members are expected to demonstrate the ideals of Christianity and participate in religious affairs. The university operates on a trimester system.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: teaching undergraduate classes on the Hattiesburg campus; advising students; serving on committees as assigned by the institution; assisting the university in the implementation of the Statement of Purpose and the Institutional Plan; and providing services to support the work of bivocational ministers.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate must hold an earned Ph.D., Th.D., or Ed.D. from an institution with regional accreditation and affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The candidate must also have extensive graduate and doctoral coursework in New Testament studies and Greek. Preference will be given to candidates who have undergraduate level teaching experience and pastoral experience.
