John M. Jones, D.O., Chair of Osteopathic Principles and Practice (OP&P) and Professor of Family Medicine
Dr. John Jones obtained a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987 (University of North Texas). From 1989-1999, he was an Associate Professor, then Professor of Clinical Osteopathic Medicine at Western University Health Sciences. After a year as Acting Chair, Dr. Jones served from 1990 -1999 as the Chair of the Osteopathic Principles and Practice Department (COMP/WesternU), becoming an Assistant Dean for his last two years there. In 1999, Dr. Jones joined the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine as an Assistant Dean, and he remained there until 2001.
In 2002, he joined the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine as a Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and became the OMM Undergraduate Teaching Fellowship Coordinator. In 2004, he took a position at Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. At Touro, he served as both Professor and founding Chair of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department.
