Lisa R Quin, PhD, Assistant Professor, Microbiology and Biology
Dr. Quin participated in the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s doctorate program in Microbiology, during which time she secured research funding from the American Society for Microbiology Robert D. Watkins Graduate Research Fellowship. In 2007, she received her Ph.D and earned the School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences Dean’s Research Award.
As a member of the Alliance for Graduate Education in Mississippi since 2004, Dr. Quin has mentored and taught Microbiology and Bacteriology to students from across Mississippi ranging in educational backgrounds from high school to graduate level. She has also taught General Biology at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, MS since 2008.
Dr. Quin has published several manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals including Infection and Immunity, The Journal of Infectious Diseases, and Vaccine. Her research interests include host innate immune response mechanisms, bacterial pathogenesis, and vaccine development.
