Ensembles
William Carey Chorale
The Chorale is the primary choral ensemble at William Carey. This auditioned ensemble of 40 students represents the University in churches, schools, community events, and in mission areas. The Chorale performs a variety of literature appropriate for different venues and audiences. Open to all students by audition.

Chapel Choir
Open to all students without audition, the Chapel Choir provides music for chapel and on campus concerts throughout the year.
Oratorio Choir
The Chorale and the Chapel Choir join forces several times a year to perform major choral works.
Instrumental Chamber Ensemble
This ensemble is open to all students by audition. This ensemble plays a variety of literature and accompanies major concerts throughout the year.
Music Theatre and Opera Workshop
From one-act works to full-scale productions, this ensemble is open to all students. Workshop experiences afford students major performance roles on-stage.
Jazz Ensemble
This ensemble plays literature from the jazz repertory. Open to all students by audition, this ensemble represents the university at off campus performances as well as on-campus events.
Pep Band
This ensemble is open to all students by audition. The Pep Band performs at home basketball games.
Carpenter's Wood

Carpenter's Wood is an auditioned Contemporary Christian ensemble comprised of ten highly skilled vocalists. During the Spring Trimester, the group tours in and out of the state representing the college at various churches and in other concert venues.
In the summer of 2011 this group took a mission trip to Italy, and future mission trips are planned. Mrs. Kathy Vail is Sponsor for this group. |
Guitar Ensemble
This ensemble performs locally at small venues in the Hattiesburg area.
Piano Ensemble
This auditioned ensemble performs works for multiple performers on two or more pianos.
Carey Carillion

The handbell choir, open to all students by audition, performs on campus and throughout the state. |
Carey Quartet
| The Carey Quartet sings for a variety civic functions and gatherings. Specializing in patriotic songs, this quartet recently sang at a dinner featuring Senator Trent Lott. Senator Lott joined the guys singing “You’re A Grand Old Flag.” |
