Winters School of Music

Dr. Mark H.
Malone, Dean
As Dean of the Winters School of Music it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. The School of Music at William Carey University is named in honor of Donald and Frances Winters in recognition of their vision, dedication and leadership in developing the music program at the college. The Winters School of Music has been an institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music since 1966 and a member of the American Music Therapy Association since 1977.

The School of Music has a rich tradition of providing instruction in the musical arts in a caring, Christian environment. Graduates from Carey are serving across the nation and around the globe in myriad musical endeavors within colleges, schools, churches, and on the mission field. Choirs from Carey have toured Europe and Asia, have sung in Carnegie Hall, and given concerts throughout the south.

Scholarships are available for Music Talent, Academic Achievement, and those entering Church Related Vocations, as well as for participation in The Chorale (Choir), and ensembles that include vocal, piano, guitar, instrumental, and handbells.
