Scholarships at William Carey University

  1. Williamm Carey University Scholars
    William Carey University offers 30 hours a year of tuition to first-time freshmen who receive a 29 or higher ACT or 1300 or higher SAT and who fulfill the application requirements. This is a comprehensive scholarship and may not be combined with any other scholarship offered by William Carey University. The WCU Scholar is a resident only scholarship. Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 3.5.

  2. First-Time Freshmen and First-Time International Student Scholarships
    1. Trustee Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 3.2 and participate in the college honors program.
      1. 28 – above ACT
      2. On Campus - $6,600
      3. Off Campus - $4,500
    2. Presidential Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0.
      1. 25 – 27  ACT 
      2. On Campus - $5,600
      3. Off Campus - $4,000
    3. Academic Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75.
      1. 21 – 24 ACT
      2. On Campus - $4,500
      3. Off Campus - $2,900
    4. Opportunity Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5.            
      1. 20 ACT
      2. On Campus - $3,500
      3. Off Campus - $1,900
  3. Transfer Scholarships
    1. Presidential Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0.
      1. 3.5 – above Cumulavitve GPA
      2. On Campus - $5,600
      3. Off Campus - $4,000
    2. Academic Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 2.75.
      1. 3.0 – 3.49 Cumulavitve GPA
      2. On Campus - $4,500
      3. Off Campus - $2,900
    3. Opportunity Scholarship - Recipients must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5.
      1. 2.5 – 2.99 Cumulavitve GPA
      2. On Campus - $3,500
      3. Off Campus - $1,900
  4. Add-On Scholarships
    1. Phi Theta Kappa (up to $300 per year) for junior college transfers (Copy of certificate needed for verification)
    2. Alumni Dependent (up to $300 per year) for children, grandchildren, siblings, and spouses of alumni (former graduates of William Carey)
    3. Acteen  (up to $200+ per year) for Acteens completing more than three quests in participating Southern Baptist Churches
    4. Baptist Student (up to $300 per year) for students who are a member of and recommended by a pastor of a Southern Baptist Church
    5. Church-Related Vocations Dependent (up to $500 per year) for children and spouses of full-time employees of Southern Baptist churches, associations, and other SBC agencies.
