Concentration/Endorsement in Reading

Attain a concentration/endorsement in reading with six courses.  A six-part concentration / endorsement series is designed for undergraduate elementary majors desiring a concentration in reading or teachers with a standard license desiring an add-on endorsement in reading.

Undergraduate

  • EDU 308 The Reading Process (3 hours)
  • EDU 311 Practicum in Teaching Reading in the Elementary School (3 Hours)
  • EDU 344 Literature for the Child (3 hours)
  • EDU 407 Communication in the Elementary School (3 hours)
  • EDU 441 Diagnosis and Correction of Reading Disability (3 hours)
  • EDU 474 Reading in the Middle and Secondary School ( 3 hours)

 Graduate 

  • EDU 602 Trends in Children's Literature ( 3 hours)
  • EDU 611 Current Trends in Reading (3 hours)
  • EDU 615 Language Arts in the Elem School (3 hours)
  • EDU 636 Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum (3 hours)
  • EDU 637 Advanced Individual Study: Advanced Diagnosis and Correction of Reading Disability (3 hours)
  • EDU 574 Reading in the Middle and Secondary School (3 hours)
