Welcome to the Noonkester School of Arts and Letters
Welcome to the Noonkester School of Arts and Letters, where thinking, reading, writing, creating and performing begin at William Carey University. The Noonkester School is an academic community in which faculty and students read, study, and expound the great texts of human civilization after the manner of our namesake, William Carey (1761-1834).
How the Noonkester School Got Its Name
The Noonkester School is named for Dr. J. Ralph Noonkester and Mrs. Naomi Hopkins Noonkester, who served as president and first lady of William Carey College from 1956 to 1989.
