Hattiesburg, Miss., June 14, 2013 - The 2013 Bobby Halford Baseball Day Camp was held this week, June 10-14, at William Carey University’s Kennedy Sports Complex, allowing young players, ages 7-12, to improve their skills and learn new techniques. The camp was being instructed by WCU Head Baseball Coach Bobby Halford along with Ben Smith, assistant coach, and Matt Carter, graduate assistant.

Halford said that the camp covered a wide variety of topics, including infield and outfield play as well as batting technique. He and the other coaches taught these young boys the proper way to hit, run, catch and throw, while giving individual pointers for personal improvement.

WCU will hold another baseball day camp for the same age group, June 24-28. The camp will be from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m. - noon on Friday. The registration fee is $140, which includes camp insurance, a t-shirt, and lunch. Those interested can fill out an application at www.careyathletics.com.
